In the journal entry that begins I've been thinking about writing... and stops there, trailing off into the ordinary demands of a Tuesday. I know that weight. I've carried it myself. And I know that the stories we most need to write are almost always the ones we've been most afraid to begin. It is why I wrote The Shaman's Wife. I'm opening a small space for that kind of beginning.
