Dear ,Reader, Well, it looks like I’ll be stepping into a big unknown! And you are invited for the ride! You are receiving this because you have expressed an interest in my writing. Starting March 4, 2023 I will begin to post previews of the chapters of my memoir, The Shaman's Wife. If you are interested in receiving the chapter previews please be sure to register here.
If you have already subscribed to receive chapter previews of my memoir, The Shaman's Wife. Here are the details. For many of you, writing is a way to express your thoughts and feelings and to communicate what you care about. It’s a daring endeavor to put your heart out into the world through the written word - or any artistic work. I hope that by sharing my process, you are inspired to do more with your writing or art. The world desperately needs creatives and new stories that bring us together. Most chapters have been written, but not all have been edited. I’ll be sharing my process, including what it took to revisit memories in such an intense way as to describe the experiences as if you were with me. There is a caveat. I am not seeking feedback on my writing. I have editors for that. What I welcome is sharing what the writing evoked in you. How did it make you feel? Have you also had similar experiences? Has my writing provoked new insights for you? This is a no-judgment, kind space, so bear that in mind when you comment. I plan to post a chapter every two weeks on a Saturday beginning March 4, 2023. I’ll find old photos to include to make the story come alive for you. With each chapter I'll share a bit about my writing process. As a memoir, there were some chapters that were difficult to write. Memories came flooding back. Since I kept a journal throughout the years in Ecuador, my recollection comes from memory and journal entries. There are thirty chapters as of right now. By the time the book is published, you will have taken the journey with me. I will take a break if I feel overwhelmed or due to holidays or travel. Self-care is part of the process. As a subscriber, I’ll invite you to special events before, during, and after the launch. In addition, I plan to travel to book signings in the USA and Europe, so I hope to meet some of you there.
