Hello Reader,

I thought publishing The Shaman's Wife and baring my soul in my memoir was an act of bravery and vulnerability. Publishing my poetry, written over the past twenty years, takes it to another level!

I’m happy to share that my new poetry collection, Between Root and Sky: A Collection of Poems, is now available.

This book was written in the spaces between—between what grounds us and what invites us to stretch, soften, and become. The poems are quiet companions, meant to be read slowly and returned to often.

Between Root and Sky is a contemporary poetry collection exploring grief, love, and spiritual transformation through nature-based, contemplative verse. Organized in three movements—Thresholds, The Unraveling, and Returning—these poems trace the human journey from deep attachment, through loss and dissolution, to quiet integration.

These poems do not rush toward healing. They sit with grief, honor loneliness, and find the sacred in ordinary moments. Nature appears as teacher and witness—offering steadiness when words fall away. What emerges is not triumph, but the understanding that we can carry loss as carefully as love, remaining rooted while still reaching.

🎧 I’ve included an video/audio recording of me reading one of the poems in this newsletter. It is the title poem of the collection and found in the last movement called Returning.

📍 For those living in Portugal, I’ll also be hosting an in-person book launch in Portimão this February at my friend Mienke Flesseman's art gallery.

We will be joined by Wicky van Deemter-Heemskerk, of Aroma Flower Healing, who will offer flower essences aligned with the poetry in the book.

I will be selling and signing books at the event. The first twenty guests who purchase the book will receive a complimentary bottle of essence curated for this event. Essences will also be available to purchase.
